The Turkish shipyard, Bilgin Yachts begins the new year with the technical launch of its 74-metre superyacht. After the fascinating début of the 80-metre super yacht, “Tatiana”, which we admired at the Monaco Yacht Show, the shipyard, with facilities in Istanbul, conducted the technical launch of its new super yacht, Bilgin 243, which will now be moved to the shipyard’s main pavilion for finishing.

Built in Yalova, where Bilgin has its facilities for building in steel and aluminium, the super yacht is now in the tourist marina of western Istanbul to finish fitting and will be ready for delivery in 2024.

The technical launch and design of Bilgin 243 – said Bilgin CEO, İsmail Şengünwere a complete success for the entire Bilgin team. We are very happy and proud to begin the year so successfully.” The yacht, designed by Unique Yacht Design, has a similar layout to the 80-metre Bilgin 263. With its five deck layout in a super efficient hull, it has a number of relaxation areas on each deck.

In addition to the flybridge and large sun areas, it is also equipped with a dining area on the upper deck, a living room with a bar on the deck and another living room with a table for 16 people on the main deck. The owner has complete privacy, thanks to the large dedicated area on the forward main deck.

FROM 5 TO 9 CABINS: THE OWNER DECIDES

Emrecan Özgün CEO and founder of Unique Yacht Design, describes the super yacht as a very special project. “We designed the Bilgin 74m – explained the CEO of the design studio – by concentrating on large and spacious structures which are characteristic of a boat of this size, trying to develop them to perfection. The result has been a great balance between internal and external living spaces, pleasant, large and sporty, but not tiring.”

The 1,607 GT semi-custom yacht can offer from 5-9 cabins, depending on the owner’s request. The number of cabins currently is 7, 4 of which are on the lower deck, 2 VIP cabins on the main deck and an owner’s suite. While all the cabins have large windows for an ample amount of daylight, the upper deck dedicated to the yacht owner will have a spacial terrace with a private jacuzzi.

The deck is made up of the owner’s suite, its bathrooms, a changing area and a separate office area. Seeing as the layout is flexible, the owner can choose to have 2 additional cabins or reduce the number of cabins to have larger social areas.

A 50 m2 beach club, bar and lounge, a gym, sauna and garage for tenders are among the main characteristics of the Bilgin 243. Propulsion is through two 1,920 kW main engines allowing the yacht to go at speeds over 17 knots. Its fuel capacity is 169 thousand litres, to cover over 5 thousands miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
