Pardo GT 52: the new, larger, crossover-walkaround by Pardo Yachts
Pardo GT 52 is the newest challenge taken up by Pardo Yachts. New for boaters wanting larger, more liveable and comfortable spaces compared to other walkarounds, but without skimping on performance
A bit a crossover of the seas, a bit a walkaround: this is the new Pardo GT 52, the new motor yacht by Pardo Yachts, which will be presented by the Pardo Shipyard for the first time at Düsseldorf in 2022.
A new product positioning itself between the Walkaround and Endurance ranges, targeted for that segment of boaters looking for more liveable and comfortable spaces compared to current walkaround models, but without skimping on performance.
The new 52-footer confirms a design where the central element is focused on continuity between the interior and exterior, as already shown on the Endurance 60: long lateral aft windows, a fully openable stern door and a semi-open roof.
Complete reorganisation of the space also offers a more varied use of the cockpit area, with a dining area and a large sun lounging area. It has much more generous liveability, thanks to the option of the double interior layout (galley up or galley down) which transforms the perception of the spaces, enhancing the time spent on board, especially during lengthy cruises.
“It is stimulating – explains Massimo Gino from Nauta Design – to imagine life on board the Pardo GT 52 considering these two layout options for the living area: on the one hand the solution with a large galley near the passengers in the cockpit and with a large relaxation area with a TV on the lower deck, on the other a well-equipped galley and an ample dinette lounge on the main deck.”
52 FEET OF AUTHENTICITY
A clear cut, unmistakable hull design, with the inverted bow, a trademark of the Pardo Yachts family. But with an external layout that favours relaxation areas. On the GT 52, eight people can be easily hosted on the forward sun lounge area, and another eight in the aft areas sitting around a dining table, which can also be transformed into a second sun lounge area.
Also on the stern, the bridge is 60cm longer than the Pardo 50, allowing the owner to store, launch and recover the tender or jet skis, thanks to a practical electric system.
The hull of the Pardo GT 52 is an evolution of the Pardo 50, with which it also shares its Volvo Penta IPS engines (2×650 in the standard version, or 2 x700/800 as an optional). In spite of this, the two models have substantial differences in regards to interior volume, weight distribution and centre of gravity.
The GT 52’s engines are moved aft to give more space to the cabins: the engine room and related weights have been completely revamped in order to better balance the vessel, in spite of the modifications made. Hydrodynamics have been revised, keeping into account the increased weight created by the cabins, which are larger, and by the closed superstructure, in addition to the interior décor, more imposing compared to the Pardo 50.
COMFORT FOR EVERY SEASON
The interior of the GT 52 has been created to offer an experience of comfort and functionality and to handle longer trips with passengers on board. Starting with the owner’s cabin, with a larger size and the bed’s headboard on the gunwale, in order to guarantee easier movement around the cabin, connected to a large bathroom with a shower to the bow. Followed by the VIP cabin with bathroom and the crew cabin.
The interior architecture offers two possible layouts: galley up and galley down. With the former, it is possible to create a TV lounge, or third cabin with bunk beds on the lower deck. With the latter, the dinette is larger and the galley is better equipped, for use also in other seasons.
