The new 60 foot Endurance 60 by Pardo Yachts

The new Pardo Endurance 60 is finally in the water. After launching at Marina di Ravenna and its first few miles at sea during an attentive 12-hour test, the new model has now officially entered the fleet of Pardo Yachts.

Here are the first images taken by Alberto Cocchi, one of the best known photographers in the boating industry. The images were taken in Portopiccolo (Trieste) and showcase the hull design, in the interior and exterior spaces, as well as the liveability and functionality of this yacht, designed and built by the Pardo Shipyard, allowing passengers to enjoy the sea in comfort, freedom, autonomy, and safety, all while respecting the marine environment.

The presentation of the new 60-foot yacht to the public and international press is scheduled to take place during the Cannes Yachting Festival, from 7 to 12 September 2021.

ENDURANCE BY NAME AND PERFORMANCE

After the success of the walkaround range (Pardo 38, 43, and 50), with over 200 units sold in three years, the Pardo Endurance 60 puts its owner even more at the heart of an open air lifestyle.

This goes both for when outings are for only a few hours or a weekend, as well as a long distance voyage. The latter highlighting the design and construction qualities of a yacht capable of autonomously dealing with the sea for long periods, elevated the much appreciated family feeling of the current Pardo Yachts range.

The new Endurance 60, like all the Pardo yachts has been developed for comfort and elegance on board, ease of use, and long-term reliability, thanks to accurate checks throughout the entire production chain.

THE INTERIORS OF THE PARDO ENDURANCE 60

The focus on the owner can be seen in the location of the cabin, the ample spaces and fine furnishings, privacy, and the style and functional details for relaxing below deck.

The Endurance 60 fully embraces the night & day cruiser philosophy. Thanks to its excellent soundproofing, it guarantees silent sailing and low consumption even at night. The continuity between interior and exterior spaces during the day, is made possible through the lateral windows in the main living area, which can be lowered to create a natural harmony between the bar and kitchen area with the outdoor table to the stern.

The result: a large terrace overlooking the sea, making the stern area 41 m2 (taking into account the large swim platform) to be used for relaxation in direct contact with the sea.

SAFETY, LOW CONSUMPTION AND SUSTAINABILITY

Pardo Shipyard is always aiming for the highest standards in safety and sustainability during manufacturing. Pardo Endurance 60 sums up the traditional design and innovative processes under way since 1973, experience that translates into structural quality without compromise. Also in the development of the hull, though meticulous fluid dynamic analyses (CFD, the same carried out on sailing yachts) in order to create a vessel capable of sailing well during displacement at 10-12 knots and during planing at 23-25.

Objectives reached and that, together with the low consumption and being prepared for hybrid engines, make the new Endurance 60 a yacht with a strong vocation for sustainability and respect of the marine ecosystem.

ENDURANCE 60’S FIRST FEW MILES AT SEA

The first few miles at sea, 12 hours of sailing to test the boat’s manoeuvrability and the usability of all the spaces on board, resulted in exceptional feedback..

Endurance 60 is surprising for its liveability in all interior and exterior areas, with a perfect balance between the lounge, eating, services and bedroom areas. The flexibility of the structural elements during the design phase, like the collapsible windows and walls, are even more appreciated: a marvellous and real sensation of being able to enjoy the sea with no barriers obstructing the view of the outside. On deck and on the flybridge, it is possible to easily access and use all of the sun lounging area, safely moving around the yacht even when it is at a sustained speed.

What was surprising was the silence and complete absence of vibrations, notwithstanding the activation of the generator for the entire duration of the test, in addition to optimal ergonomics on the bridge, the exterior visibility of over 270 degrees, easy manoeuvrability and low consumption with the Volvo IPS 800 engines, that during the night transfer (displacement at 10 knots) recorded and average of 40 litres/hour for an autonomy of approximately 700 miles.

SERVIDATI: “THE ENTIRE EXPERTISE OF THE PARDO SHIPYARD”

The Endurance 60 – explained Gigi Servidati, manager for the development of new models for the Pardo shipyard – is a design where what shines is the ability to sail well in displacement and planing: for this we studied in depth the design of the hull using CFD analysis, taking advantage of the knowhow that we have gained through nearly 50 years of experience in shipbuilding.

Low consumption, controlled speeds, silent and safe navigation for night-time transfersnoted Servidati – make the E60 a design in which also environmental sustainability becomes a value to preserve. All of these characteristics are held together by the elegant design and the unmistakeable style of every Pardo yacht.

This new 60-footer required tremendous effort in terms of research, studies, and design for the Technical Department of Pardo Shipyard, which also partnered with Davide Leone for the naval architecture and for the hull design, and with Nauta Design for the interior design.

What we have designed – says Davide Leone, manager of naval architecture – is a hull, optimised in all aspects for IPS transmission. The maximum beam of over 5 metres allows us to take advantage of the width of the vessel in order to obtain both large internal spaces and better performance when the boat is planing at significant speeds.

For the design of the Endurance 60, which marks the beginning of a partnership between Nauta Design and the Pardo shipyard for motor yachts as well – added Massimo Gino from Nauta Design – we worked on an interior layout defined by the ship builders, creating a fresh and bright interior style, bringing together white lacquer with blond teak, a reinterpretation and contemporary take on teak, which has always been an excellent wood for interiors.

The layout was designed by the Pardo shipyard. The main deck is characterised by the gunwale which can be opened, creating a new relaxation and socialisation area along the cockpit and deckhouse sides. The kitchen and bar are located to the stern and have windows that open out to the gunwale, creating two relaxation areas with the external bar and wall of the kitchen. The dining area and lounge are located further along the bow on a raised platform in order to enjoy the panorama.

The layout created by Pardo for the lower deck is a classic three cabin three bathroom, including that of the owner. Great attention was given to the owner’s cabin, with its large spaces and stowage, the brightness created by the amount of light coming through the windows along the hull, as well as the winning combination of white colours and teak.

EASY AND SAFE MANOEUVRES THANKS TO IPS ENGINES

Regarding the engines, the shipyard wanted to follow current market demand: studying these demands led to choosing Volvo IPS 700 Hp engines (also available is the optional 800 Hp version), guaranteeing easy manoeuvrability, maximum safety and contained consumption.

In addition to these advantages, the IPS engines allow for the installation of the Dynamic Positioning System, an incredible help during docking, because it keeps the boat still in one spot, making manoeuvres easy and executable even with a reduced crew.
