It is 76 metres long with a maximum beam of 12.5 metres; the new Tankoa T760 “Apache”, mega yacht in steel and aluminium was revealed during the Monaco Yacht Show. It was designed by Alberto Mancini.

Apache consolidates Tankoa’s skills – explains Vincenzo Poerio, CEO for Tankoa Yachts – in building yachts of this size. This is an evolution of existing designs into something innovative and more contemporary, with the partnership of a top designer like Alberto Mancini.”

I’m very happy – says Giuseppe Mazza, Sales and Marketing manager for Tankoa – that after many years of knowing each other, we have been able to work together on a design with the amazing Alberto Mancini. In spite of his youth, I consider him to be one of the most important yacht designers in the world. I believe that the flying pool on the bow between the upper and main decks is one of Alberto’s most visionary ideas, yet again surprising us with innovative solutions.

MODERN ARCHITECTURE

Inspired by modern architecture, the clean exterior design of Apache is based on sharp horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. It looks like the feathers of an arrow, with a beautiful and dynamic aspect and reduced bulwarks for an uninterrupted view out to sea and intimate contact with the water. “The layered decks – says the designer, Alberto Mancinioffer more places for relaxation and social activities, but the balance between the interior and exterior spaces is instinctive, bright and happy.”

EVERYONE ON THE BEACH

Apache’s beach club is a key characteristic of this mega yacht. When the collapsible lateral terraces are opened, there are 125 square metres of space, and a flying pool accessed through a large central staircase from the main deck. It is connected to the garage which, once emptied from tenders and toys, provides even more space for the deck. The collapsible panels are also equipped with uni-directional glass the same colour of the hull, so as not to ruin exterior aesthetics.

The dining and lunching area of the main deck cover a bright area of 118 square metres. This is the most sociable part of the yacht, a hub for socialising with direct access to the large open-air terrace or the the beach area. There are four guest cabins on the main deck with larger windows than is usual for cabins on the lower deck, in addition to a staircase and a partially-covered gym on the forward deck, and a luxury VIP suite on the bow.

THE FLYING POOL

The sumptuous owner’s cabin is on the forward upper deck, with direct access to an absolutely sensational “flying pool9.5 metres long. The pool has a glass bottom, not only to make it feel like you are swimming in the sea, but also to allow the filtered light of the water to come through the partially covered room and gym on the deck below. A refined design that has never been tried before on a super yacht.

APACHE’S INTERIORS

In the designer’s vision, the style of the interiors combines with a sophisticated combination of soft Loro Piana textiles and silk wall coverings, a warm durmast parquet and chamois to create a luxurious yet sober and welcoming space. Dark blue ash wood panels and a glass hallway run through the owner’s suite creating a balance between warm and cold materials.

ENGINES

Apache will have a displacement of 1,350 tonnes and a gross tonnage of 1,515 GT. There are two options for propulsion: two CAT C3512E engines (2 x 1901 kW @ 1800 rpm) or two MTU V4000M73 engines (2 x 1920 kW @ 1970 rpm) for a maximum speed of 16.5 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and an autonomy of 5 thousand miles.
