Otam: working in the construction, refitting, storage, mooring and assistance of pleasure craft

Otam (acronym for Organizzazione Tigullio Assistenza Motoscafi) is a shipyard founded in 1954 as one of the first shipyards offering boathouse facilities in Liguria.

Today, the head offices of the company are located in Sestri Ponente (GE), in a facility extending over a surface area of  17,000 m², including:

  • 3,500 m² covered area;
  • 3,500 m² open area;
  • 10,000 m² dock, with 35 spaces and a 180 tonne travel-lift.

The shipyard has 50 employees including workers (all experienced professionals) and professionals (architects and highly qualified engineers) who have been working with the company for decades. They work on the entire production process, which happens fully in-house and ranges from construction to assistance for finished products. To these activities are also added services for:

  • refitting (of any kind);
  • storage;
  • mooring.

Currently the shipyard is actively working on three production segments:

  • the historic range, Millennium, Otam’s core business borne from sixty years of experience in motor boating;
  • niche production of chase boats or luxury mega-tenders;
  • the production of 30 to 40m full-custom, semi-displacement aluminium units (started in 2014).

Otam vessels are characterised by their performance, quality, efficiency and reliability. Each yacht is created following a process that starts from the analysis of the client’s desires, through to the creation in minute detail of every element required: the Otam team possesses the necessary experience to accompany the owners throughout all phases of the vessel’s construction, advising and studying together with them the best solutions for their needs. However, for the company, customer care goes well beyond the launch, and indeed, the same team will always be available to the owner for any problems or improvements, 365 days a year, 24/7.

Lastly, there is also “Pontile Otam” in Santa Margherita Ligure, which can host over 70 vessels and offers its clients complete assistance.
