The mega yacht Artefact is in Genova. Docked at the Porto Antico, in front of the Magazzini del Cotone, it certainly does not pass unobserved, thanks to its original design and ample use of glass.

At midship for example, is a window from floor to ceiling. But this is only a part of the 740 square metres of glass used to make this 80 metre mega yacht, built in 2020 by Nobiskrug. The exterior design is by Gregory C. Marshall.

Artefact’s environmental friendliness can also be seen in a number of technological and engineering solutions that reduce its impact to a minimum. Among these are solar panels, together with a powerful energy storage system in the battery, to guarantee the mega yachts electricity for a certain amount of time. Equipped with Azipods, the Artefact has a hybrid propulsion system, diesel-electric, developed together with ABB. In addition waste water can be recycled and used as thermal water.

Even though the interiors of Artefact, designed by Reymond Langton Design, remain a mystery, seeing as very few have had the privilege of seeing them, the mega yacht docked in Genova can easily host up to 16 passengers in 8 cabins, a master suite, 2 VIP cabins, 2 large double cabins and 3 double cabins. It can also transport 24 crew members, housed in 12 cabins.

The displacement hull is in steel, with a superstructure in composite and decks in teak. It runs on diesel-electric Caterpillar engines, and is pushed by its two azimuth dual thrusters. The Artefact can reach a maximum speed of 17.8 knots, while its cruising speed is around 15 knots. With its 260 thousand litres of fuel, it has a maximum autonomy of 5,300 nautical miles going at 15 knots. The freshwater tanks have a capacity of around 55 thousand litres.
